Since our founding more than a decade ago, Integrated Breeders has proudly worked with cattle breeders, ranchers, and farmers to optimize the genetics of their herds and increase their efficiency and profitability.
Based in Hearne, Texas, we offer a range of cattle reproductive services including semen collection and storage, artificial insemination, and embryo transfer.
In 2022, Drs. Cody and Ky Pohler of Pohler Investments purchased Integrated Breeders to continue its work as an industry leader in reproductive technology. Cody and Ky are both experts in bovine reproductive management and are excited to continue to produce high-quality products while providing the best possible customer service.
Our Texas Team
Dr. Ramiro Oliveira - General Manager
Ramiro is a Brazilian veterinarian with a rich background in large cow-calf operations across South America and extensive experience in various bovine reproductive companies. He received his veterinary degree from Sao Paulo State University in 2017 and started his academic journey in the United States by receiving a master’s and a doctorate in the physiology of reproduction from Texas A&M University. Throughout his graduate studies, Ramiro conducted groundbreaking research in applied reproductive strategies and cutting-edge technologies for both male and female fertility in the beef industry. Ramiro has consistently excelled in his efforts, bringing a wealth of knowledge and innovative thinking to his role as general manager at Integrated Breeders.
Betty Singleton - Bookkeeper/Human Resources
Betty has been with Integrated Breeders since November 2022. She is our bookkeeper and human resource administrator. She came to Integrated Breeders with over 20 years of bookkeeping experience and has worked with human resources for 10 years. Betty loves spending time with her son, daughter-in-law, and two grandsons. In her off time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, and cooking.
Paige Phillips - Customer Services Representative
Paige grew up in Madison County on her family’s owned and operated cattle ranch, where they run a cow-calf operation. Paige got an early start in the cattle business, working on her family’s ranch from the time she was old enough to ride a horse. She first discovered her interest in the cattle industry by listening and learning from her dad, grandfather, and uncle as she grew up. Since graduating from Texas A&M in 2019, she has worked in the agriculture and cattle industry on both the cow and bull sides. Paige has obtained valuable knowledge through her work and is continuing to do so with her work here at Integrated Breeders.
Ramon Cruz - Bovine Reproductive Technician
Ramon is a veterinarian who graduated in 1984 from the Universidad Juarez Autonoma de Tabasco, Mexico. He brings a wealth of expertise to Integrated Breeders. With a career spanning decades, he has been diagnosing pregnancies since 1985. He has become an AI technician with the American Breeder Service and became a certified embryo transfer technician from GRI in Navasora. Since November 2021, Ramon has been a valuable member of the Integrated Breeders team, contributing his extensive knowledge and passion for reproduction to our commitment to excellence in cattle reproductive services.
Linda Broadus - Receptionist & Office Assistant
Linda was born and grew up in Northeast Texas, where she attended nursing school and worked in the nursing profession for about 18 years. After that, she started working in the beef industry and worked at Bovine Elite for 25 years. In the last five years, Linda has been working with Integrated Breeders as our receptionist, greeting and assisting our customers as they call or come into our office. She is a great asset in tackling the day-to-day challenges of accomplishing our office-related work.
Bryanna Hardin - Bovine Reproductive Technician
Bryanna grew up in a small town called Sweeny, Tx, just an hour south of Houston. Back home in Sweeny, Bryanna and her family have a cow calf operation. Her passion for cattle started at an early age when she and her siblings competed at many stock shows, jackpot shows, and county fairs. Bryanna’s family delivered her passion to her at a very young age and she knew she was going to pursue a career in this field. When it was time for college it was a simple decision to pursue a degree in Animal Science focusing on Production. During Bryanna’s time at Texas A&M University she interned at Integrated Breeders in the summer of 2023. During her internship she gained knowledge about semen collection, female reproductive services, semen handling, and much more. After graduating Texas A&M in May 2024 Bryanna is now working full time at Integrated Breeders managing our female reproductive services.
Ryan Owens - Bovine Reproductive Technician
Ryan found his passion for cattle at his family’s cow-calf ranch in String Prairie, TX. He pursued his bachelors of Agricultural Services and Development at Tarleton State University. Since his graduation in 2021, Ryan has gained valuable knowledge in the industry while working on Wagyu and Angus ranches across South Dakota and Texas. His knowledge acquired while working on these ranches will be valuable to our facility as a Bovine Reproductive Technician.
Gerardo Jaimes - Laboratory Manager
Gerardo grew up in Smithville, Texas, and attended Texas A&M University. He double majored in biochemistry and genetics and graduated in 2023. During his studies, he gained valuable experience in laboratory techniques and equipment while working in the biochemistry department. After graduation, Gerardo has held several quality control roles and utilizes his experience to consistently deliver high-quality products. He now manages our laboratory, analyzing and processing semen.
Kassidy Schwarz - Shipping and Inventory Associate
Kassidy grew up in Parker County, where she was introduced to the livestock industry from a young age through showing club cattle across the state of Texas. In 2018, her family switched gears and started a cow- calf operation of registered Texas Longhorns. She gives credit of discovering her passion for the livestock industry to this historic breed and the incredible breeders she has met through the years. She graduated from Sam Houston State University in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She enjoys staying active in the Longhorn community by exhibiting her own cattle while also helping youth with showmanship, feed recommendation, and her new adventure as a TLBAA qualified Judge. This passion led her to us here at Integrated Breeders, and now she manages our shipping and inventory department.
Our New Mexico Team
Dr. Gessica Johannsen, Operational Manager
Gessica Johannsen, a native of Brazil, earned her bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine from UFU, Brazil, a Master of Science from the University of Tennessee, and a Ph.D. in physiology of reproduction from Texas A&M University. Throughout graduate school, Gessica researched the sire influence on pregnancy loss in cattle. Her research has led to transformative insights into the impact of bull on pregnancy outcomes and advancements in fertility assessment tools. Dr. Johannsen wears many hats while leading our New Mexico team, managing our semen processing lab, and handling the export processes. Gessica is dedicated to delivering the best results based on individual client needs.
Levi Farris - Bovine Reproductive Technician
Levi is originally from Wimberley Texas and graduated from Texas A&M in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. He is a former bull collector from ST Genetics where he learned the ins and outs of bull collections and has collected over 20,000 semen samples to date. He also has experience with the female side of things working as an embryo transfer technician at Reprologix. He is now in charge of bull collections and animal care.
Thomas Johannsen, IT Director & Facility Manager
Thomas Johannsen is a certified IT and network engineer with over 10 years of experience collaborating in the agriculture, medical, and oil industries. Passionate about using technology to modernize and improve the livestock industry, Thomas is a jack of all trades. He leverages his wide range of skills to maintain and enhance our facilities, ensuring the safety and comfort of the animals. Thomas, Gessica, and their son, Theodore, have moved to the village of Capitan, New Mexico, to open an additional location of the business. They are very excited to provide the same high-quality service out west.
RubEn Mizquez, Ranch Hand
RubEn Mizquez is local, raised here in Lincoln County. He is the youngest of the family and has always been around horses and cattle. Rubin will be graduating in May from Capitan High School, where he is an active FFA member, currently serving as the chapter office. He is passionate about livestock and has been judging horses for four years now. Rubin is a person of many skills and contributes to our daily operation with animal care, facility maintenance, and semen collection.
